1. The Adhesive Factor

The type of bond used makes a massive difference in the timeline and equipment required:

  • Thinset (Tile): Range from “easy-scrape” to modified thinsets that bond aggressively. Thick, uneven applications often require heavy mechanical grinding.
  • Glue (Wood & LVP): Newer epoxy-based glues can be so strong they practically weld the material to the slab, requiring specialized cutters.
